Frenzy FYX
Product Information

The Frenzy has become a legend since it first hit the snow in 2002... now the FYX carries that tradition on into 2010 as the highest performance all mountain snowkite in the world.
Brian Schenck (Instructor-Rider): The Frenzy 9 meter has been my go to kite for powered up riding the past few years. Its agile & powerful, yet packs down into a 30L pack in the backcountry. With its increased turn-radius, the new FYX will definitely have a place in my quiver this winter.
Rob Whittall (Designer): Since its inception, the Frenzy has always been Ozone's flagship Snowkite, combining high performance features with an extremely stable wing shape that can handle gusty mountain winds with ease. The Frenzy is a kite that will continually grow your learning curve and keep you smiling after every Snowkite session. Raw power in a finely tuned and user friendly package, thats what she is folks.
Whats New...
FYX 2010 has a new bridle, which incorporates what we have learnt from making the new Manta M3 and the Access XT. The result is a tighter turn radius with a faster wing speed and increased depower range.
New features on the Mountain Pack, with interior shovel pocket, slap straps for carrying board or extra kites, and en emergency whistle.
The new look 2010 FYX is still the All-Terrain Frenzy we know and love, just a little more refined and suited for the Intermediate to Expert kiter.
Quality
Because it counts
Quality is a word that gets used a lot in the kite industry. At Ozone, we don’t take this word lightly; when we use it, we mean it. We are proud of our design and manufacturing and think it’s second to none. We’re proud of our design and manufacturing and believe they set a precedent for the rest of the industry.
Quality begins with design : at Ozone, a quality design results in a kite that handles as well as possible, combined with the highest level of performance and safety.
Choosing materials : this is a simple issue, when we choose materials, we base our decision solely upon the fact that the materials we use are the best available for the job.
Kite production : all Ozone kites are manufactured in our own facility. We have total control over every aspect of the manufacturing process, and each kite is fully inflated and inspected to certified paragliding standards before leaving our DHV-approved factory.
Product testing : Our Kites has undergone thousands of hours of development, from CAD design through to riding in extremes, at -40 0 C in Norway to the baking heat and sand blasts of Chile.
Mylar Edged
Aerodynamics tells us that the leading edge and the trailing edge are the two most critical lines in an aerofoil section. Ozone kites are Mylar taped on the leading edge, giving a more rigid structure, a clean and efficient aerofoil, and absolutely zero stretching. The Mylar tape effectively locks the sail shape, meaning your kite keeps it’s factory trim. For the trailing edge we roll the seam twice and stitch to give a soft and clean exit for the airflow.
Double Stitched
Ozone kites are double-needle stitched, which is stronger and more durable than single line stitching in the event of the kite being dragged over rough ground. Even our thread used for stitching the lines and sail is UV-bonded, further adding to the strength and life-span of our kites. Every seam is checked to within 0.5 mm; a look at the colour-scheme accuracy and the inside of the seams of our kites will highlight this fact.
Just remember that only a 1mm error on a cell in a kite with 30 cells leads to an overall error of 3cm, this can make a marked difference to a kites handling, performance and safety!
Lines
Flying Lines
Tested to 300/300kg, Ozone’s heat-treated Edelrid Dyneema SK75 lines ensure stretch resistance, a high thermal tolerance and durability for all kites. Lines are cut, pre-stretched, sleeved and stitched to ensure 100% accuracy. The lines are final load tested to 60% of their breaking strain to “lock” the line and as a final production check.
The ‘kook-proof’ colour-coded and labeled line connection system makes set-up safer and completely stress-free for riders new to kiting.
Bridle Lines
Our aim when designing the bridle lines is to use the least amount of line possible, to minimise parasitic drag through the air, resulting in a more performant kite. Kite design has advanced to the point where the accuracy and diameter of the line lengths is vitally important. To achieve this accuracy, we use the highest quality Dyneema lines which are stitch finished for extra strength and less drag.
Attachment Tabs
Our attachment tabs are sewn deep into the reinforcement area of the ribs, which means that the load is spread over a larger area of material, thus reducing any stretching and ageing of the cloth.

FRENZY FYX CONTROL SYSTEM
In 2005 we introduced our “leash-less” RE-RIDE safety system which meant no more leash tangles or hassles when riding. Our design has since been copied by many brands, the biggest compliment we can think of!
Robbie, Ozone’s designer and one of the most active snowkiters in the World has had his creative energies flowing the past year! To compliment his new designs, the FRENZY FYX and the MANTA II 09 he re-designed his “RE-RIDE” safety system. The “Patent Pending” system is simpler and more effective whilst being easier to reload once activated.
Our new Control System with our Moulded “Megatron” Chicken-loop and Robbie’s cleaner safety system gives you the ultimate bar in one length that works for all sizes of Frenzy FYX and Manta II (54cm)
